Another Hungarian movie - produced in 1943.
The title means "Stubborn Kate", so it is not very surprising that the movie is a -then- contemporary take on Shakespeare´s The Taming of the Shrew.
When Emmi Buttykay (a rather nice name for a spanked actress I suppose) throws a tantrum, her husband decides to finally tame the shrew. She complains to her father (?) afterwards, but he just pretends to be angry at his son-in-law while indeed he is quite happy about the events.
He then tells his daughter that she can´t live with such a brute any longer, but suddenly she is not so sure about that
(exactly what Daddy was hoping for, of course) - admitting that her husband might not be so bad after all and yes, it was a little her fault, too.
At least that´s the rough translation that I got from someone who understands a little Hungarian .
