The silent comedy film short Casper´s Week End, filmed in 1928, was based on the daily comic strip Toots & Casper.
Thelma Hill starred as Toots while Bud Duncan played Casper.
The spanking scene is remarkable in two ways as it has both Toots and Casper on the receiving end - plus it´s rather lengthy and features the rather rarely seen methods of running the gauntlet and the use of a spanking tunnel.
Fascinating! For those outside the U.S., there really was a practice at the time of making someone, usually an underclassman, run the gauntlet of paddling upperclassmen. It wasn't an everyday occurrence, and you wouldn't see that on a college campus today although paddling still goes on indoors.
