Definitely weird. And it is unfortunate that the spanks, such as they are, are very brief and a bit chaotic.

There's another scene in this show which could be argued as a spanking scene, albeit somewhat borderline. I think definitely worthy of adding here, not least because it is the show's star who is on the receiving end this time. It also has some other unique features.

Nice one, had forgotten this one entirely. Ida Lupino a pretty big star (and director) later in career. James Gleason one of those character actors who shows up in tonnes of films from 30s-50s.
