I'm not 100% sure, because it looks a bit lower video quality than other ones I've seen. But I think it's AI to promote this person's AI stories. There's a lot of them on instagram now. In English they come up as various drama stories.

After looking up the series, I'm more convinced that it's AI. I could be wrong, but every clip I see follows the same format as the ones I posted, they're all filmed for phones, no widescreen. Maybe it's a really niche short story thing that's made to stream on phones. But I'm not seeing anything convincing.

There's a whole recent trend for duanju/vertical dramas, basically soap opera trash in very short form shot in ratio designed to watch on phone. Aimed at the zero attention span market, get people hooked to subscribe.

Big in China and think gone more global recently. Probably there are some using AI as it fits with what the tech is getting capable of, but it is also a real thing making money

That makes sense, the biggest reason I'm thinking it's AI now is, when you click on the cast and crew and start following those links, the actors all seem to only appear in these things and the listing for crew is only a film editor and a video editor, sometimes a director, sometimes a producer, no other types of production crew, no cinematographer. It could be lack of information given to IMDB by the production, but it's all very suspicious.

I suspect that is just because this is operating in very different world to IMDB. IMDB is much more aligned to traditional tv/movie studios whereas this stuff is being churned out at high volume in 2 minute episodes more like tiktok videos, designed to go viral quickly, but also kind of disposable. I'm sure there is AI in this field but real stuff too

Speculate there may in fact be a fair amount of content out there on these that would be interesting to this forum but most likely finding it would require wading through a vast amount of crap.
E.g. there was a Guardian article about these recently which mentioned one of the big hits being a Fifty Shades inspired series called Spark Me Tenderly "A young woman gets a job with a handsome pervert who makes her sign a BDSM contract. There’s a brief battle of wills and some fully clothed heavy petting, and (spoiler alert) it ends with the pervert setting his kink aside because he’s fallen in love, and the woman getting really into BDSM.":
