The series is pretty terrible, as its reputation suggests. It did have a little chance at redemption in episode 3 (at least, to us) though. Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) tells her group of friends about the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, and most of all her mother's hairbrush. I cut it down to the barebones, so it starts right where Tedros (Abel Tesfaye) offers up his solution to her trauma, otherwise the scene would run over 8 minutes and 8 minutes for a couple of solid reaction shots, just isn't worth the time.

Duh, well I am not going to watch this. Still thanks for this scene - although they even managed to pour some nerve-wrecking icky music over the scene without exactly showing anything of the spanking....

Ah yes, that would be the music of Tesfaye (aka The Weekend) that you're so fond of , who is a co-writer/co-star/executive producer of the series.
The scene, much like the rest of the series has a mistaken penchant for vagueness, so much so that they can't even be bothered to show any marks in the follow-up scenes. There are a million ways this scene could have been better, more explicit (which seems to be something the series desperately wants to be) and even evoke the emotion that it's seemingly attempting to. It all falls on Lily-Rose Depp who is trying to make something out of the lack of anything being given to her.
