Filmmaker friends, Joe Swanberg, Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett wrote/directed this humorous independent romantic drama, years back. The film opens with the "Monster-Verse" director, himself (Adam Wingard) and his girlfriend (Rosemary Plain) filming a sexual encounter, which we see primarily through the phone screen that it's being captured on. The scene closes with Wingard giving Plain a few smacks as she lay over his lap, and a few more heard after the picture fades. The video becomes a plot device for the film's final story, but the spanking aspect of it isn't referenced again.

Usually you can tell if I actually watched (and paid attention) to an entire movie by how much I can describe what's happening in it
