I thought it was a cover (I must have it somewhere) but it looks like it was a production still. Either way, this isn't the normal cover pic that you see of Shirley Temple getting spanked

This particular type of deception seems to have been especially prevalent in the 40s/50s. Other examples of 'spankings that never were' appear on the publicity stills for Hit Parade of 1943 (aka Change of Heart, 1943), My Dear Secretary (1948), The Fuller Brush Man (1948) and Behave Yourself (1951).

The ‘spanking scene’ from Getting Gertie’s Garter (1945) is something else again. This beautifully positioned shot, with the shapely Marie (“The Body”) McDonald draped across Barry Sullivan’s pinstriped lap, does in fact feature in the film. Barry gets home early to find Marie dallying with one of his friends. The friend makes a hasty exit and Barry advances purposefully on Marie, who backs away babbling excuses. Grabbing her, he pulls her over his knee growling, “I’m gonna teach you a good lesson for playing tricks on your old man!”, raises his hand over that superb bottom and then – lets her off. What a wimp.

Here's another 'movie spanking that never was' - Angie Dickinson and Dean Martin in Rio Bravo:



Great positioning, but no such scene occurs in the movie. A shame - Angie was one very spankable lady, especially in that film.

If you saw Rio Bravo, however, Angie would have been spanked by John Wayne.

They were the romantic interest, and she did risk her life saving him after being told to stay in her room.

Alas, the gal with the perfect legs and fanny never got spanked here. She did discard her pantyhose for Wayne, who threw them out the window only to have them land on Walter Brennan!

Great movie! I watched it about six times last year! So much potential, so little spanking! Sigh!

Sadly I can`t tell the name of the maid. But she gets her bum sprayed with water by a man who playful pursuits her. In anothere scene she bends and lifts her skirt a bit. I will upload it to youtube next week and announce it here.
