Hiya, Michael! Fancy meeting you here. G I didn't recognize that actress as being in 'Support Your Local Sheriff' - I remember her being very pretty alongside James Garner. You're right, I never understood why the writers of that movie neglected to put a spanking scene in there. The plot was crying out for one, IMO.

Actually, the scene is pretty well constructed. There are the pair -- Pernell Robert and Joan Hackett -- and cutaways to Little Joe and Hoss, Ben Cartwright and Jay Novello, and Hackett's young sister (played by Susan Silo). So, with all the cutting, we get to HEAR lots of "spanks," but if you count them, there are only THREE that actually land on the body double's bottom.
Interestingly, Susan Silo, who is in this scene playing Joan Hackett's younger sister, got a "real" spanking the year before, on screen, in an episode of McHale's Navy.
