No one would have blamed you for skipping an update with all that going on, but perhaps it was theraputic? But, on behalf of all of us who enjoy all your work at this blog, thank you very much! It's always a treat!

My deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved tomcat. I agree with Dave (which BTW, HI DAVE!!! I'm "Joey" from the SCSW&G group, many moons ago...good to see you're still alive & kickin!) that no one would have blamed you if you had skipped a day after such a trying day, but I have to tell you weekly listing is one of the special treats I look forward to each Friday. Thank you, for all that you do; you are tremendously appreciated, whether you hear that all the time or not.
Warmest Regards,
JD
Your weekly updates alone just blow me away, that added to all you do throughout the week and I wonder when you sleep! As always, it is so much appreciated. That said, as others have related, the loss of a beloved pet can not be minimalized. If your wife was in tears, she certainly felt the pain, even if it was a tomcat.Yet, you soldier on and post anyways. You are amazing. Give your wife our condolances and thanks for all you do. Thanks are probably due your wife as well, as she allows you time to post all this for our benefit. Hope the rest of your weekend goes smoothly!
Jim
Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your cat. If only they would stay indoors, this sort of thing wouldn't happen. But try telling a tomcat that.
Hugs,
Hermione
After some consideration we have now a young (and totally different) little tomcat from a local farm as a new member of the family. It really helps a lot (especially with my wife and daughter), although we know that history might be repeating itself.
Best wishes
