Well, apart from the general sexism of that time I don't think there's an (adult) spanking scene or even reference in Mad Men.

This one definitely comes across as a Secretary parody in my mind!

I guess I could see that, it's a little strange, in 2014 to shoehorn a parody of a 2002 film, into a parody of Mad Men. I guess I shouldn't be looking that deep into this show's motivations, is the conclusion I'm going with. Oddly, you can't stream this episode without buying it in the US. On its home streaming service, season 6 starts at episode 2. Considering the content, that could be for a host of reasons. Just noteworthy, I suppose.
